A youth-led mass movement for climate justice.

We fight for a livable future by taking on the fossil fuel industry, the hoarding of wealth and the racial capitalist system.

We are in the middle of an existential climate crisis and a lethal inequality crisis.

Fossil fuel companies - and the banks and asset managers that finance them - are driving us off the cliff of climate collapse.

The wealthiest 1%, with their dirty investments and private jets and yachts, rob us of a livable future while ordinary people struggle to make ends meet and survive. Black, brown, and poor communities drink poisoned water and breathe polluted air because of fossil fuel expansion in their backyards. Meanwhile, our politicians continue to delay and deny thanks to Big Oil’s bribes.

If our so-called “leaders” won’t act on climate, it’s on us to hold them accountable and reclaim our tomorrow. We will take direct action against the people who are burning our world until the fire is out.

POP is a youth-led climate justice group building people power and using direct action to take on the fossil fuel industry and put Planet Over Profit.

We target fossil fuel companies, their financiers, and their allies in office. We disrupt the lives of the super-rich 1% who are most responsible for this crisis. We organize and mobilize to take money out of fossil fuels and put it into our communities. We believe that only through building mass people power can we halt climate collapse.

It’s now or never. Join us.

Our Campaigns

  • End Fossil Fuel Infrastructure

There is no way around it – if we want to avoid climate collapse, we must end the use of fossil fuels, immediately. Any approval of new fossil fuel projects is a death sentence to all current and future generations. In the year 2023, it should be impossible to even propose new oil and gas projects, let alone approve them.

The science is clear – we have no time to waste. However, it is not too late and the good news is that we already know what solutions we need. We need a just and democratized transition to renewable energy, safe decommissioning of fossil fuel infrastructure with justice for workers, and an end to fossil fuel consumption.

Our government has known this for decades, yet has chosen time and time again to sacrifice our future for Big Oil lobby money. Biden, who wants us to think he is a “climate champion,” is approving new fossil fuels faster than Trump. We can’t let our political leaders shove more carbon bombs down our throats. Our job now is to force Biden, Schumer, and all two-faced political leaders to stop new fossil fuel projects and start implementing climate solutions with the urgency they require.

  • End Fossil Fuel Finance

The fossil fuel industry is driven by one thing: profits. Wall Street and the financiers of fossil fuels are banking on the demise of people and planet, milking every last cent they can out of the drivers of planetary destruction.

Banks and investment companies like Citibank, Blackrock, and KKR pour hundreds of billions of dollars into fossil fuels every year, pushing for more pipelines, more fracking, and more drilling, not because we need more but because there is profit to be made. [ If Blackrock were a country, it would have the third largest GDP in the world.] The wealth that finance executives manage gives them a scary and undemocratic power to determine our power sources and our politics.

We demand that banks, investment firms, and asset managers divest from fossil fuels. For the sake of our future, we must cut the source of money financing the climate crisis.

  • Redistribute Wealth

There. Is. Enough. There is enough! There just is! Billionaires have more money than they could ever spend while working families struggle in record temperatures to put food on the table.

Fossil fuel companies are making record- breaking profits while they price gauge and make families sink into debt just to pay for gas and electricity. There is no moral justification for adding more zeroes to your bank account or buying a superyacht when that money, correctly allocated, could literally save lives. Your fourth mansion is not worth more than the lives of millions. If that’s a controversial statement to you in 2023, then get out of the way.

Imagine the kind of world we could live in if all of our needs – good housing, high-quality education, affordable healthcare, and above all, a livable and safe planet to live on – were met. If we tax billionaires and powerful planet-killing corporations and invested that wealth into programs like reparations and green social housing, we may actually find a way out of this crisis.
